Supporting Women in the Corporate Workplace

Women’s Health Seminars for the Workplace

Women’s health is an important part of workplace wellbeing.

For many women, issues such as pelvic floor symptoms, pregnancy-related pain, postnatal recovery, menopause, hormonal changes, pelvic pain, musculoskeletal discomfort and return-to-work challenges can affect comfort, confidence and participation at work.

Yet these topics are often under-discussed in corporate environments.

Urban Ergonomics helps organisations provide safe, professional and clinically informed education around women’s health in the workplace. Our seminars are designed to be practical, respectful and relevant, giving employees evidence-based information they can understand and apply.

Whether your organisation is planning a Women’s Day event, a wellbeing initiative, or a broader employee health program, our Women’s Health seminars can be tailored to suit your team.

Type of assessment:

Why this matters

Women’s health concerns can influence how employees sit, move, exercise, recover, concentrate and participate in the workplace.

Common issues such as pelvic floor dysfunction, back pain, pelvic girdle pain, menopause-related symptoms and postnatal recovery needs can affect daily comfort and function. In many workplaces, employees may not know where to seek help or may feel uncomfortable raising these concerns.

A professionally delivered seminar provides education in a supportive and appropriate way, helping normalise important health conversations while giving employees practical strategies and clear pathways for support.

Physiotherapist-Led Gold Standard Assessment

Workstation Ergonomic Assessments Across Australia

At Urban Ergonomics, our ergonomic workstation assessments are delivered in person by registered musculoskeletal physiotherapists with advanced training in ergonomics, workplace design and injury prevention.

Because we diagnose and treat posture-related headaches, neck pain, RSI and shoulder injuries every day at Urban Physiotherapy, our musculoskeletal injury clinic, we understand exactly how poor workstation setup and work habits evolve into clinical injuries.

Unlike generic ergonomic assessors, our assessments represent the Gold Standard of Ergonomic Practice — delivered by clinical physiotherapists at the forefront of musculoskeletal design, treatment and injury prevention. Every assessment is clinically driven, practical and immediately actionable, combining biomechanical expertise with real-world workstation optimisation.

Whats Included in our Assessments

1.  In-person workstation assessment
Conducted on-site in the workplace, in-office, or at home, assessing how the individual interacts with their workstation in real working conditions.

2.  Clinical assessment by musculoskeletal physiotherapists
Assessments are performed by registered physiotherapists with specialist expertise in biomechanics, injury mechanisms and musculoskeletal load — not checklist-based ergonomic consultants.

3.  Immediate workstation modifications with real-time education
Practical adjustments are made on the spot. Every change is explained in real time, including why it’s required, how it reduces injury risk, and how to maintain it long-term. Questions are encouraged throughout.

4.  Individualised exercises and preventative strategies
Where appropriate, targeted exercises, stretches and preventative strategies are prescribed by the physiotherapist to address identified risks and reduce the likelihood of injury recurrence

5.  Formalised Ergonomic reporting and Equipment recommendations

  • Before and after photos of the workstation

    • Assessment of all relevant components, including screen(s), keyboard, mouse, chair, desk, footrests, phone and headset equipment, webcams and any other workstation-specific items

    • A clear summary of issues identified

    • Changes implemented during the assessment

    • Recommended actions and equipment, where required

All recommended ergonomic equipment can be sourced directly through Urban Ergonomics, providing organisations with a single, end-to-end solution for workstation safety, consistency and WHS compliance.
